San Mateo Home Reimagined from the Ground Up

Our team at SEA Design Build completely transformed this property, enhancing functionality, style, and long-term value. The project included a second-floor ADU, a fully remodelled kitchen, and a host of modern upgrades that elevate the home’s aesthetic and liveability.

Elevated Details and Smart Additions
To complement the kitchen expansion, the living spaces were re-imagined for better connection and flow. A full wall closet was converted into a pool bathroom and family room that seamlessly opens to the kitchen — merging indoor comfort with outdoor access.

Upstairs, the remodel introduced a new Jack and Jill bathroom and a refreshed hall bath, combining smart design and high-end finishes to maximise usability without compromising luxury. The staircase was updated for both structure and style, tying the home’s modern look together.

The remodel began with a focus on expanding usable space and improving flow. By adding an ADU on the second floor, we created a private, self-contained living area perfect for guests or multi-generational living — a popular trend in Bay Area home design.
Inside the main home, the kitchen became the heart of the transformation. We designed and built a large open-concept kitchen featuring a walk-in pantry, butler’s pantry, and a spacious island ideal for family gatherings and entertaining. Every element — from cabinetry layout to lighting and finishes — was tailored to blend functionality with timeless style.

Bringing the Outdoors In
A new deck addition extends the living space outdoors, perfect for Bay Area entertaining and relaxation. The new exterior siding and energy-efficient windows bring curb appeal and performance together, giving the home a refreshed, cohesive look.
